About Bios Rice
In India rice is grown in 43.86 million ha, the production level is 104.80 million tones and the productivity is about 2390 kg/ha, creating hundreds of thousands of tonnes of spent rice husk every year at farmer level. Much of this discarded resource ends up in landfill emitting harmful greenhouse gases, including methane.
We work with local farmers in India to transform these spent rice husk and kernels into value at an industrial scale, giving new life to a material previously considered waste, and contributing to a circular economy.
